biography zone:

Sean Christensen, Awesome But True, has been living to get radical since 1981 with a strong focus on being as awesome as possible and remaining true to ones self. He has lived in many zones, but has remained dedicated to the region of illustration. Surrounded by a community of umbrellas he has had few clouds in his zone.

Sean is the founder of the Awesome But True Electric Institute, a collective that includes a growing network of artists from all over the world. Sean has curated shows at Reading Frenzy and been featured in shows at Pony Club, Floating World Comics, Moshi Moshi, Acorn, Tender Loving Empire, Grendel's Coffee, and other Portland galleries.

He also produces art books on a very regular basis. He has made a monthly sketchbook/drawing game compilation titled “I can’t Speak ‘N’ Spell So Well”. Sean releases books of his fully conceived shows such as “Venus In Furs”, the story of woman’s metamorphosis into cat, as well as the epic teaching of his Brozar in “Where’s Kyle: Broseph In The Heart Of Eternity”.

Sean has also collaborated with the revered “Gejius” on music/visual piece “Wet Set: The Toys of Synth”, and served as art direction for the PDX Pop Now performance and created music video for Gejius’ “Slip and Slide”. Sean is in his multimedia zone.
